Party with chocolate in your hair

As I mentioned in my previous entry, I went to another round of Copenhagen Burlesque, and in the spirit of Valentine's I went crazy with the bows n' chocolate.

The evening held such wonders as a fire-eater, a burlesque striptease performed by a dragqueen, a small theater group hired to insult everyone they came across (hilarious) and "grannies" mingling with the crowd, more burlesque striptease, live music, silly jesters, body painters and more. Also, there was a girl who thought coming in completely naked was a costume. She was just so gross. I don't want to see your pierced nipples and shaved crotch, gurl!! i hope that will be banned for the next event. I'm just fine with sequined nipple-covers and tassels etc. It falls in with the dresscode. But... no! It's a themed event nightclub, not a fetish sex club.

Not my photo, obviously
"She" was made of pure gold, I tell you. Acting more feminin and alluring than any woman I've ever seen!

Not my photo, obviously
These guys threw off their granny wear, revealing spandex sportswear and danced to "She's a maniac". It was epic!!

This sums up the evening pretty well, happy people in fancy dress and masks. (except for that very unhappy bloke that sneaked into the corner XD )

A quick dancefloor shot. Yes, the swing hangs beneath the perverted angels (they're totally grabbing eachother XD )

Stine and I posing for a close-up :3 Stine really brightened up the place with her look! She did get aLOT of attention, albeit from all the creepy guys XD

My make-up held SO well! I used a mix of Make-up Store, MAC and Inglot, and used Bodyline falsies. I need to tell you, Stine has the BEST eyelash adhesive evah! I didn't need to check ONCE, and it held really tight when I had to remove them (I think I'll use some warm water next time).

Of course, for such an event, I want to wear something unique (any excuse to make something, right?)

Here's the pillbox hat I mentioned, shaped like a box of chocolate.
It's mounted on a transparent hair comb.

And a glimpse of the "chocolate" which I made from tinfoil covered in Fimo clay, painted with acrylics (for the gold and "nougat" decorations).

I had planned to wear a skirt I had ordered from Bodyline, but customs were ridiculously slow, procession my shipment for almost two weeks! So I had to improvise and make a skirt. I had 4 hours to make an adequite skirt, so I was a tad stressed you could say.

I realize I'm repeating myself here, but I made a replica of this AP skirt, but had to go for a different type of fabric to get the right color (I tell you, getting a proper quality fabric in perfect pastel pink is quite the undertaking!).

I didn't have enough time to make a proper waist, and had to settle for a simple elastic solution DX Which isn't great, but what can you do when you have an unmoveable deadline?
I'll fix it next time I have a date with the sewing machine :3

For the limited time I had to measure, cut and so on, I think it turned out really well! (except for the waist DX Which looks ridiculously small here, because I made it to fit a corseted waist)

However, I didn't have time to really play with the trimming, so the bow will need some redoing too. I want to get the right tiny net lace and ad either pearls or rhinestones, like on the original.
A tip for the crafty lolita. When doing this kind of bow, to make it keep that lovely shape, remember to fasten it in places, otherwise washing and brushing up against things will quickly warp it and it'll droop.

Also made this double brooch, to fasten on the corset and blouse. It's made of plastic and glass, and it just fitted what I had in mind so well!

It's really late, so I'll finish for now, but on thursday I'll post my most recent buys, and talk Bodyline sizes (warning: And Tron merchandise XD )

~Be good~
